Welcome to Sustainability Yard (“we”, “our”, “us”).
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our website, mobile application, and any related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By using Sustainability Yard, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please stop using the Platform.
1. About Sustainability Yard
Sustainability Yard is a marketplace that enables merchants, builders, tradespeople, and individuals (“Sellers”) to list new or used building materials, tools, equipment, and other goods for sale (“Products”).
Buyers can browse listings, contact sellers, and purchase items where available.
We are not the seller of the goods unless explicitly stated.
We act as a platform provider only.
2. Eligibility
To use the Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a contract
- Use accurate, truthful account information
- Comply with all applicable laws
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements.
3. Account Registration
When creating an account, you must provide:
- A valid email address
- A password
- Basic contact information (such as phone number and postcode)
You agree to:
- Keep login details secure
- Not share your account with others
- Notify us immediately of unauthorised access
We may request verification where needed for safety and fraud prevention.
4. Listings & Selling
Sellers are responsible for:
- The accuracy and completeness of product information
- Setting prices and availability
- Ensuring items are legal and safe to sell
- Complying with advertising and consumer laws
- Uploading images they have rights to use
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
- Stolen goods
- Hazardous materials
- Counterfeit items
- Illegal or restricted goods under UK law
We reserve the right to remove listings that violate our policies.
5. Buying & Offers
Buyers may browse products, contact sellers, and submit offers where enabled.
Submitting an offer does not guarantee acceptance.
Sustainability Yard does not:
- Inspect or verify listed products
- Guarantee quality, condition, or accuracy
- Take responsibility for the outcome of buyer–seller negotiations
All purchases are made directly between Buyer and Seller unless otherwise stated.
6. Payments
Where payments are made through Sustainability Yard’s payment infrastructure:
- Stripe or similar payment providers may be used
- Buyers agree to provide accurate billing information
- Sellers agree to comply with payout verification requirements
- Fees, charges, or commissions may apply (as stated in your plan)
We may hold funds temporarily for fraud prevention or dispute processing.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post misleading, defamatory, or harmful content
- Upload viruses, malicious code, or harmful scripts
- Use the platform for illegal activity
- Harass, threaten, or abuse others
- Create fraudulent accounts or listings
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service
We reserve the right to suspend or ban any account violating these terms.
8. Platform Boosts & Paid Features
Users may purchase optional promotional features (“Boosts”) to increase listing visibility.
Boosts:
- Are non-refundable
- May vary in reach or performance
- Do not guarantee sales or enquiries
Subscription plans and Boost packages are billed according to the pricing shown at checkout.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on Sustainability Yard — including logos, branding, text, and design — remains our property or the property of our licensors.
You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute platform content
- Use our branding without written permission
- Extract data for use outside the platform without consent
10. Third-Party Services
Our Platform may integrate third-party tools such as:
- Stripe
- Google Maps
- Analytics services
- Advertising partners
Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for damages arising from buyer–seller disputes
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- We are not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate listings
- We provide the Platform “as is”
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be legally limited.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in harmful or illegal activity
- You misuse the Platform
- Required verification cannot be completed
You may close your account at any time.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we do, we will publish the updated version on this page.
Continued use of the Platform indicates acceptance of any changes.
